Reformer Pilates: Elevate Your Experience
At Riverside Fitness we offer a traditional take on the Pilates reformer methodology. Our accredited instructors take you through a challenging 45 minutes focused on technique, strength and tone. Our small class size of no more than eight ensures a personalised experience so you walk away feeling accomplished and invigorated.
Why Pilates?
Pilates is a methodology dating back over a hundred years. With it’s roots firmly founded in rehabilitation before developing into “the dancers workout” a good Pilates workout comes with a plethora of benefits.
Building Fitness:
This low-impact style is ideal for varying fitness levels, practitioners build endurance, flexibility and strength throughout their whole body. A key focus of the reformer machine is to provide resistance based exercises that target the deeper core muscles improving posture, balance and coordination.
Injury Rehabilitation:
In addition to the overall fitness impacts of the Pilates method, many physiotherapists and allied health professionals prescribe reformer Pilates as a means of rehabilitating various injuries. By isolating muscle groups and providing a sturdy platform to perform exercises, reformer Pilates can significantly improve recovery from injuries or injury management of chronic conditions such as lower back pain.
